In April, 2026, a unique event took place under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair of the Ulyanovsk State Pedagogical University: The Festival of Languages and Cultures of the BRICS countries “Ethnoworld".

The guests of the event had the opportunity to listen to music from different continents performed by professional musicians from China, India, Indonesia, Iran, South Africa, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt and take part in workshops during which foreign guests demonstrated playing musical instruments from around the world.

The Festival participants also saw vivid performances by the children's folklore ensemble “Zhikharka” and the Dance school of the peoples of the world “Samira” and got acquainted with presentations by schoolchildren – members of the Ulyanovsk International Friendship Clubs, who told the audience about the culture of the BRICS countries. The foreign guests of the Festival, in turn, acted as experts, shared their impressions and helped to separate real traditions from fictional stereotypes.

The festival allowed the participants to go from dancing to the complex unique rhythms of Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The students surprised the audience with their depth of knowledge, and the guests from the BRICS countries with their professionalism, sincerity and generosity to emotions, showing the audience that music can speak without words.

In total, more than 150 people took part in the event.
