The 10th Asian Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development (ACESD 2025) was held in Fukuoka on November 8-10. This is one of the key international platforms where researchers and industry representatives discuss modern challenges in the field of ecology and sustainable development. This year's event brought together participants from more than 20 countries around the world.

Anastasia Nasibulina, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Philosophy, History and Cultural Studies and Head of the UNESCO Chair in Environmental Ethics, presented East Siberian State University of Technology and Management (ESSUTM). Anastasia made a presentation on "Sustainable development and eco-efficiency in ecologically sensitive areas: the experience of the Baikal region". The report addresses key issues of modern environmental discourse: the cultural foundations of sustainable development, the limits of economic growth, the transformation of anthropocentrism, and the need for a new philosophical understanding of human-nature interaction.

"The study reveals eco-efficiency as a new civilizational logic, a path that combines economic rationality with environmental and ethical responsibility. Sustainable development requires not only technology, but also deep value changes," Anastasia Nasibulina said.

Yokohama National University, the National Institute of Environmental Studies of Japan, Nagasaki University and the Japan International Cooperation Agency are among the organizers of the event. Participation in the Conference is organized within the framework of the grant "Young scientists of East Siberian State University of Technology and Management - 2025".
