The International Scientific and Educational Center "UNESCO Chair on Copyright, Neighbouring, Cultural, and Information Rights" at the National Research University Higher School of Economics invites you to participate in the XXXV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Media Law 2026", which will be held on December 14-15, 2026. The annual conferences dedicated to the anniversary of the adoption of the Russian Federation Law dated December 27, 1991, "On Mass Media»" have long become traditional. The authors of the law, the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Law, Professor Yu. M. Baturin, Doctor of Law, Professor M. A. Fedotov, Candidate of Law, Associate Professor V. L. Entin, as well as prominent legal scholars, theorists and practitioners of media communications, government and public figures, as well as practicing lawyers, students, postgraduate students, and university professors from Russia and abroad, invariably participate in it. As in previous years, conference participants will summarize the development of domestic and international media legislation and its application in 2026 and exchange views on trends and prospects for the development of media law in the modern world. The topic of the conference is "Law and Media: New Manifestations of Old Problems". The conference will be held in person, with the option for out-of-town participants to join online and an open broadcast. The conference languages ​​are Russian and English. The participation is free. Applications for participation in the conference are accepted on the HSE UNESCO Chair website: as speakers – until November 20, 2026; as in-person attendees – until November 30, 2026; as online attendees – until December 11, 2026. Confirmation of successful registration is carried out automatically: a corresponding message appears on the screen. The conference program is based on applications and abstracts submitted to tis@hse.ru. For those who have an academic degree submitting an abstract is optional. Please note that abstracts will not be published; they are used only for the program. For candidates and doctors of science, submitting a thesis is not mandatory. For students, in addition to the thesis, a recommendation from a professor/supervisor is required. The preliminary conference program is updated on the HSE UNESCO Chair website as it is developed. Out-of-town and international speakers whose performances are included in the conference program will be able to receive personal invitations for travel arrangements, if necessary. After the conference, speakers will be able to receive a Certificate of Attendance. Conference participants' papers that meet the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) requirements for the content and format of scientific articles may be published in the quarterly journal "Works on Intellectual Property", published by the HSE Publishing House. The journal is included in the HAC List of Peer-Reviewed Scientific Publications and is indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and the Russian Scientific Research Center (RCNI).
