III International Scientific and Practical Conference: "The Contribution of Universities to the Development of an Inclusive Culture in Society"

On May 28-29, 2026, RUDN University will host the Conference "The Contribution of universities to the development of inclusive culture in society."

On May 28–29, 2026, the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), commissioned by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and under the auspices of the Russian Commission for UNESCO, will hold the III International Scientific and Practical Conference: "The Contribution of Universities to the Development of an Inclusive Culture in Society" (hereinafter – the Conference). The main goal of the Conference is to combine the efforts of science, practice and the public in the development of inclusive education, ensuring the continuity of the inclusive process in education, and disseminating theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field of higher inclusive education. Heads and representatives of legislative and executive authorities, the expert inclusive community, representatives of non-profit and public organizations, heads and representatives of higher education institutions, academies of sciences and/or education, representatives of UNESCO Chairs, postgraduates and students are invited to participate in the Conference. The key events of the business programme will be a seminar-meeting of the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education O.V. Petrova with those responsible for inclusive education in universities, and a meeting of the Working Group of the Council for Cooperation in the Field of Education of the CIS Member States on the development of a draft Strategy for the Development of Cooperation among CIS Member States on the Implementation of the Principle of Inclusion in Education. In addition, the Conference programme will include a number of thematic sections devoted to scientific and methodological support for the processes of social inclusion in schools and universities, psychological and pedagogical support for students, as well as the design of an inclusive educational environment for various target groups: migrants and persons with a migration background, persons with disabilities and limited health capacities, representatives of indigenous small-numbered peoples, young families, persons with illnesses that limit the quality and length of life, international students, and others. As part of the Conference, participants attending in person will have the opportunity to take a professional development course "The Contribution of Universities to the Development of an Inclusive Culture in Society" (18 academic hours) and receive a state-recognized certificate. Following the Conference, an electronic collection of current practices in organizing inclusive extracurricular activities for students based on Russian and international experience will be published. You can submit an article for publication on the official event website.
