7th Annual Global AI4IA Conference: Artificial Intelligence for Information Accessibility
Global online conference on how artificial intelligence is reshaping access to information, marking 25 years of UNESCO IFAP. 28 September 2026, live on Zoom.
On 28 September 2026 the Working Group on Information Accessibility (WGIA) of the UNESCO Information for All Programme (IFAP) holds the 7th Annual Global Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Information Accessibility (AI4IA). Held in observance of the International Day for Universal Access to Information, this special edition commemorates the 25th anniversary of UNESCO IFAP and marks seven years of AI4IA. The conference brings together global perspectives on how artificial intelligence is reshaping access to information, structured around two questions: The Map of Exclusion: who is being left behind as AI transforms access to information. The Politics of the Pipeline: who holds power, and responsibility, in the development and deployment of AI. The programme includes the launch of the AI4IA Intelligence Pilot, "Accessible AI for Knowledge Sharing": a new AI-enabled resource that turns nearly 420 speaker contributions and international satellite events into accessible knowledge that is easier to explore and use, while maintaining attribution to every contributor.
